Biodiversity Study of Tarbert (2018)

The Biodiversity Study of Tarbert (2018) will be launched in the Community Centre after 11.30 mass on Sunday, 20th Jan. Lal Browne Bookmakers

It was disappointing to see a second business closure in Tarbert with the closure of Lal Brownes Bookmakers, Main Street. After 40 years working in Tarbert, John Liston and Stephen Spillane with 20 years service of running the front of house and keeping the punters happy, closed their door on Monday the 31st of December. We would like to wish John and Stephen a very happy and healthy retirement.     .....

Happy Retirement Seamus Enright

On behalf of everyone in Tarbert we would like to congratulate and wish Seamus Enright, of Enright’s Restaurant, a very long, happy and healthy retirement. Seamus has been a chef for 45 years and his restaurant will be sadly missed here in Tarbert. Included in the photos below are Seamus with his son James, daughter Tricia and Fr. TARBERT POST OFFICE

The last posting Christmas date for the USA is Dec 7th for parcels & registered post and for letter post it is Dec 10th. Postal boxes, mailing bags, padded envelopes & Greetings from Tarbert Christmas Cards are available at the Post Office. The Santa post box has also arrived at the Post Office, children can post their santa letters in the post box & receive a reply. Children please ensure you add your name & address are on the back of your envelope. .....

WALK FOR THE HOLY SOULS

This year’s walk for the Holy Souls will take place on Sat. 17th Nov. from the Community Centre to the Kilnaughtin Graveyard and back to the Community Centre. Registration will take place at the Community Centre in Tarbert from 10am and the walk will commence at 10.30am. Everybody is welcome. For safety reasons, high visibility jackets and good comfortable footwear are recommended. Coffee Morning

A coffee morning and cake sale will take place at the Tarbert Community Centre on Sat. 17th Nov. from 10am to 1pm – come along and enjoy a chat and a few extra calories ( these are allowed every now and again) and bring a friend or neighbour or both. Great opportunity to show off your baking skills and do bring along a homemade cake or two to share. All proceeds will be donated to our Parish Church Fund. .....

IT’S DRAMA TIME AGAIN!

This year Tarbert Theatre Players present Bryan MacMahon’s epic tale of a young tinker couple as they journey with family through Ireland, from the north to the south on their spring carts. Shannon Drowning Remembrance Ceremony

Wednesday 15th August 2018 – 125 years ago, Seventeen (17) local people were lost in the ‘Shannon Drowning’ on the 15th August 1893 and we invite you to join us at the Memorial Plaza at 12.30pm for a Service of Remembrance. Afterwards we will walk to Mulalley’s Berth to lay a wreath at the Memorial Stone. Tidy Towns

National Tidy Towns adjudication takes place between 1st June and the end of August and we are seeking the help of as many people as possible to help with the many tasks we need to undertake during the next few months. These tasks include washing, cleaning, painting, weeding, sweeping and litter control. We are arranging for a general clean-up in each area, within the speed limits, over the coming weeks and the area selected will be notified in advance. Hope yo.....
