Parishioners were saddened to learn of the death of Mary Buckley (nee Sheehy) of Doonard Lower, Tarbert and formerly of Askeaton, Co. Limerick on February 19, 2012, at the Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee, following an illness borne with great courage and dignity. Mary was a very popular member of the community and ran a thriving hardware business with her husband Tom providing much needed employment in Tarbert until their retirement some years ago. She was a woman who believed that things should be done in an organised manner and will be missed. A very large crowd called to St. Mary’s Funeral Home, Tarbert to pay their respects.Her remains were removed from St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday Evening February 21, at 8pm and were welcomed into the church she had so faithfully attended down the years by Fr. John O’Connor, Fr. Francis Nolan former P.P. Tarbert and Canon Declan O’Connor, Listowel. Requiem mass for the repose of Mary’s soul was concelebrated by Fr. John O’Connor retired P.P. London, Fr. Danny Broderick P.P. Tarbert, Fr. Philip O’Connell P.P. (Ballylongford), Fr Pat O’Neill P.P. Ruan, Co Clare and Fr. Terence Loughran P.P. Cappagh, Co Limerick on Wednesday February 22, at 11am. A full church was in attendance for the Mass and the choir done the parish proud as the music ministry put on a brilliant performance for the solemn occasion. Mary is survived by her husband Tom, son Thomas, daughter Dympna, son-in-law Niall, grandchildren; Ava, Theo and Hugo, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends to whom our most sincere sympathy is extended. Interment took place in St Mary’s Cemetery Tarbert. May She Rest in Peace.
